Chris DI’ve posted quite a bit here over the years - we have 2 boys, a 6 year old with SW CAH and a baby (one year old today). We’ve had many struggles over the years with oversuppression and weight issues, not to mention docs reluctant to reduce my son’s dose.
Well we just got the results back from his last endo visit - thought I would share our good news. His labs are good, height is good, and he has only gained 4 pounds since Feb. (This is quite an improvement for us as he was gaining up to 10 pounds in 3 months prior to starting circadian dosing.)
We saw a different endo at the appt because his first endo is on maternity leave. What a wonderful surprise, he was a great doc! He was polite, knowledgeable and approachable. He didn’t rush, answered questions and was supportive not judgmental. I nearly broke out crying tears of joy!
And the best news yet - his bone age came back matching his chronological age. We have successfully slowed the bone age in the last 2 years and eliminated the advancement. (I know this may change, we still have a ways to go before puberty. But, just for now, I need to celebrate a bit after so many years of struggles.)
Thanks for letting me share.
