Diabetics usually do not administer intra-muscular injections. A diabetic uses a very tiny fine (virtually painless) needle that goes just under the skin into fatty tissue for insulin injections. Ocassionally a diabetic will need an intra-muscular injection of glucagon for a hypoglycemic episode, but usually the diabetic is unconscious at that point. Most diabetics know their symptoms for low blood sugar and use a variety of sugar/carbo foods or substitutes to increase the blood sugar. Glucose tabs work very fast. I do know they make an epi-pen like injectable of some meds such as imitrex for migraines. I wonder if solu-cortef is unstable in a liquid injectable form and that is why they don’t offer it.
