Sheila,

No, my daughter is not shunted. Her diagnosis is actually ventriculomegaly (enlarged ventricles in the brain). Since she has no obvious signs of hydrocephalus (vomiting, lethargy, sunset eyes), they can’t give her that diagnosis. However, her head is enlarged and she used to have pressure. We see a NS every 6 months and do CTs once a year and the last one showed the amount of fluid decreased some.

She receives cranialsacral therapy and has since her diagnosis. We saw a great improvement with that. She has delays in motor skills and speech, but is in therapies and doing well.

Feel free to email me if you like.
