My 16 yr old daughter had her labs run in late June.  They came back with the 17OHP around 2500 and the testosterone 98.  At that time we increased her Cortef from 10mg in the morning and 15mg in the evening to 15mg and 15mg.   She just had labs done again on 8/13 and this time the 17OHP is 2345 and the testosterone is 62.  The dr. has made a further adjustment to 15mg and 20mg.  Prior to this she had been doing quite well on the 10mg and 15mg with 17OHP being in the 400 range and testosterone being 33.  Any ideas about why she is needing so much more Cortef?  It’s not a matter of compliance.  She does take her meds each and every day.
