I know the feeling ! My Granddaughter has an ID bracelet and they ask me if she will be OK ?? Is her illness life threatening (DUH?) Will she have to wear that bracelet forever? The worst is when they look at her scars from a fasiotomy( cuts fron her kness to her ankles on both sides of her right leg) from Compartment syndrome... that happened when she went into Adrenal crisis. They look at me and say WHAT HAPPENED TO HER LEG? I want to say she got it caught in the lawn mower because THAT they would understand........ but when I repeat what I just typed (compartment syndrome) they just look at us like it may be something they can catch or something I did! Now my Granddaughter has started saying "That is my surgery" and they ask no more. As long as there is a general public there will be insensitive people (nice way to say ignorant) When my Granddaughter asks me about her bracelet I tell her that she is Gods special little girl and she needs to wear it so the rest of the world will know it! When she is older I will explain the medical reasons and if she understands them........ then she will be smart enough to answer any way she CHOOSES! LOL  Sincerely Cherry
