Heather, it breaks my heart to hear of a child suffering because of ignorant doctors. I hate them too.  There is definitely a lack of understanding and knowledge of this med condition. They are only human, remember, They don’t know all and won’t be able to make good decisions all the time. That’s why your daughter has you to stand up for her. Have you thought of moving to a bigger city or near a clinic with a specialist there? When my daughter had her surgery she was 3, & I had to convince her it was perfectly fine to pee in the hospital bed. (There was a urine mat under her) She was a little bossy and contrary for a 3 yr old, but it was finally ok with her when she knew I wouldn’t get mad at her.  I didn’t even have to repotty train her.  She lived with this until she was 12 and she got the flu. Now she’s in heaven. I hope your baby gets well soon. with love, Anne
