what kind of cah does your friends baby have and where are you located?  with the right treatment your friends baby should live unless it was caught too late which hopfully is not the case.  my son is 16mos and he has salt wasting cah and he is still alive and doing well he is a normal 16 mo old boy with way too much energy.  i was told alot of bad info when we weren’t sure what was wrong with him but now that he is on his medicine and he gets it on a strict schedule he is doing great!!  make sure your friend has a pediatric endocrinologist for her baby and one that knows alot about cah.  please feel free to email me just click on my name at the bottom.
