Hello New Mom! Welcome to the site! First of all I am sure this is ALL overwhelming. You will find that some people think it is fine to have the surgery on there Daughters and some are  strongly against it For every Parent this is a personal choice. I do think your best armed with all the education you can gather on the subject and ask the Dr. Is this for cosmetic reasons or health reasons? You will know what to do when you better educate yourself on the surgery and realize that many of us who have chosen to let our children have the surgery are VERY pleased with the results and are glad we chose to do it.My Granddaughter had her surgery at 13 months and is fine. I am happy I did it and would do it again if faced with the  choice I was given.  This is just what worked for me and my family.
