Hey Tonia! We too started that same day. Everything went so smooth. The school nurse told me that she was offered a job at another school this year and said she turned it down because she feels like these kids she sees are like her own. Made my heart melt. She is awesome. Although things went rather well I was still a bit nervous because we just experience our first real 90 degree day in upper Ohio this summer. Of course the poor kids were in school to not enjoy swimming through a hot day! I left a note for the teacher to keep an eye on her when they were playing outside. My daughter wears a school uniform so it looks hot to me . The kids love to chase eachother non stop too. Nice sweaty mess. So I told her before she left in the morning that she had to listen to her body and when she felt over heated to sit it out in the shade. She usually does. She cannot tolerate heat even a tad. So she did really well she said. She stayed in the shade most of recess and drank plenty of water. It is so hard to leave her for the first time at school ALLL day. (sniff sniff) It is so empty here at home. Although some of us mom’s got together yesterday for a lunch and a margartita. Just the mom’s that no longer had children at home. It was a nice afternoon. Next week I have to go job hunting. Ugh. Take care everyone! Here’s to a healthy happy school year!Laura
