My daughter had her surgery done at 7 months old too. She is 7 now. Very personal choice to make. Any which way you decide I am sure you will be making your choice from your heart. Do check with CARES foundation for direction on a surgeon. That is the BEST advice to take. Also know that some children are affected seriously, then there are some that are not so affected. Some clitoris’ can resemble a penis, while others are just a bit enlarged. So take that into consideration too.

My daughter’s genitals now look like a typical female set of genitals. She is healthy and happy. She knows she has had surgery when she was little. I never regret having it done. She is a confident happy little girl. And the decision to do it was done from my heart. This is only the first of many choices you will make for your daughter. And that will not always include CAH choices. So don’t let this decision wig you out. Research your surgeon. CARES Foundation can lead you to good choices. Take a deep breath, put your anxieties aside, and just enjoy that bundle of joy God sent you. They are only little for a short time. God bless.
