My daughter was 3 when we decided to have the surgery done. I was going to wait until she was older, but an exploratory xray showed her urine tube to be malformed. She only had the enlarged clitoris and not a fused labia. Still to correct her urinary malformation we made the appt at a children’s teaching hospital in Jacksonville FL with pediatric urologist and pediatric endo there (Nemours children’s clinic/Wolfson Children’s Hospital). They were more than compassionate and excellent. I don’t know anything about SFSU (San Fran?). If it is a children’s teaching clinic I would think they know what they’re doing, but Dr.’s are only human you know. Do what you feel is best. I’m glad we had our daughter’s surgery when she was younger also to avoid the trauma of a prepuberty surgery (an age of critical selfesteem issues). Many prayers to you and your baby. with love,Anne
