UTI’s

My daughter (non CAH) has just been diagnosed with a UTI.  So as I am looking up  details on the internet I thought AHA!! I know where some experts hang out. (smile)

For those of you with daughters who have had UTI’s.....

I am leaning towards going to my "local" (an hour away in horrible Boston traffic) Children’s hospital for the ultrasound and VCUG ( to check renal anatomy and rule out reflux) just because I want the best for my kids.... the first time.   I have an appointment now for our local hospital (not Children’s-but not bad either) for the tests. I have been assured that lots of kids go there and they do a great job. However being a parent of a CAH kid I don’t belive what I’m told anymore. ( like doctors knowing what CAH is at an ER or that a blood draw will go smoothly.. just to name a few)  I would like to believe that the closer hospital WILL be ok. It is the first bladder infection in a 3yr old.  These are fairly simply tests.

 What’s your experience  ?

footnote --- boys can have UTI’s too - I’d appreciate hearing from anyone with any firsthand experience
