re: UTI’s-burning sensation during urination....

My daughter has problems with UTI’s and burning pee pee problems. We just recently had her scoped, and had ultrasounds done on her pelvic area. He just wanted to make sure all was well down there. And it was.  The ultrasound that she had was to make sure she was emptying her bladder completely. They took one with a full bladder, then had her empty her bladder. She did fine. I can only tell you we have gone to our local (hour away) Children’s Hospital because I do not trust anyone at our local hospital. And that is not even concerning CAH. I wouldn’t send my dog to our local hospital. (maybe my brother in law) he he he... So if you are familiar with your hospital than go for it. Also your daughter may have got this infection from potty training. Perhaps she is not used to holding her pee all night. Something to think about. Or not emptying it enough because she is too busy learning about the world around her. I work with some children at my daughter’s school and I have witnessed the "gotta go dance".

A side note here. We have been chasing this pee pee problem as my daughter calls it for months now. We thought it was a bladder infection and it really wasn’t. Well one was. But she kept complaining her pee pee hurt. (burned) I assumed it was an infection but it wasn’t. I spoke to some mom’s around school and they said their daughter’s had experienced the same thing. This one mom said her ped. kept chasing it constantly. Thinking it was an infection. They would test to find none, like my daughter this summer. The ped. just kept telling her to keep her hydrated. Soon her daughter grew out of it. That was our urologist suggestion also and thought he was crazy until I heard this story. He said there is no perfect shaped utrethra in our CAH girls also. So that will always be against us to some point. I also noted that my daugher was putting vinegar on EVERYTHING this summer. That and tons of salt. I think this also contributed to a burning pee pee. I swear the child was pickled by the end of summer. We have since cut that bad habit out. I mean they all need salt but this was insane with the vinegar.

Let us know how she does!
