Giving it to her with at least a syringe or drink of milk is best. Milk coats the stomach. Usually stomach problems happen much later after long term use. The signs are always obvious.

 Follow your gutfeeling. Why would the information sheet on the script says to take it with food or milk? At least ours does. When I get up in the middle of the night to give my daughter her medicine, she gets a small cup of milk to take it with. She is older though. I’m not too worried about the milk on her teeth causing cavities as I am about her developing ulcers later in life.
