My girls(both SWCAH) receive SSI monthly. I don’t think it matters whether you have insurance or not. We have insurance through my husband’s employer as well as the girls having Medicaid. The SSI is to help cover non-medical expenses as well. For us it helps to make up for the money I would recieve if I worked, which I don’t so that I can stay home and care for the girls.
