Cassy is right. I live in MA. My neighbor,  (a single mother) her daughter has private ins from her father. She and her daughter also have medicaid. She pays a monthly  premium of $60.00 plus her co-pays. It picks up what the private ins does not pay. In MA medicaid is not limited to disabled people, here, there are many plans in the Medicaid program. Single people who work at least 40 hours a month can get it in MA.  Each state has it’s own rules and regs  that may be different form other states. Sometimes medicaid will not tell you if you qualify for any other programs in the system...you have to ask.
