Anon.... to answer your question . I am raising my Granddaughter...... as her mother passed away at the baby’s 5 months of age. Yes..... we can get medicaid for her and her meds are pd. for AT THE PRESENT! This will change as she gets older and as we get older we may not be around to help her get a disability. Yes some of the children have OTHER illness with CAH. Mitzi’s being her right leg having compartment syndrome/ loss of muscle and stiff and pointed toes. Hopefully she can have this corrected through therapy and surgeries. Her father is a manic depressive who works laborer jobs with NO insurance himself. To put her on my husbands insurance we would have to adopt her and I think this would crush my son. Probably pushing him into attempting suicide again! We spend every penny we get trying to give her the basics in life and we do not live luxouriously. I understand that some people feel we are using the system for dollars that are not needed. This is so untrue ... as No one likes to depend on any form of Goverment help because it is risky to say the least. But , in the name of love and Parenthood we will do what we have to do to give these little beings the best chance they have in life with insurance? monies and security that we and OUR tax dollars can provide! Sincerely Cherry Lane
