I can’t give you the names of any endos in your area.  You may want to call Kelly at the CARES foundation or Kathy at MAGIC.  They are a great resource!  They can give you the name of many good doctors in your area.  We were in Annapolis (we’re from Ohio) to visit my sister and our oldest got sick and went to Children’s National.  They were great!  One of the endos from there took care of her.  I don’t know if that might be another resource for you.

As far as the genital exams.  I would put a stop to those, especially since he is feeling uncomfortable.  I have 2 daughters with sswcah (6 & 8 y/o) and unless there is a specific concern, there is no genital exam.  It has been this way for years for us.  We have seen several different endos in the past few years and I just make it a point to let them know our stance on that part of the exam.  Things go very smoothly for us and I have never had any trouble with the docs.  Except for an ER doc (resident) who wanted to take a peek during a visit for the flu and we put a stop to that right away and didn’t deal with the resident the rest of the night.  Since I have 2 daughters I somewhat understand the genital exams but why do they want to examine the boys?

Good luck to you Anon!
