Hello,

Hey I really feel for you all. we have been there too. Eddie is 6 months old and a severe salt waster.

Look back through the Archives to see what others have done .

Our wee man has his salt three times a day .

The Doctor told us that to mix it our selves we could make a dilution of  1/4 teaspoon of salt with 9 mils or cc of water.

Eddie then has 2.1 mls of this three times a day. Your childs sodium need will dictate how much solution he needs.Ask your Doctor and Enlist a Pharmacist to measure the daily salt dose out for you.

It was really hard to give when he was little and he could only take a feww drops at a time but now we can give about three shots and its all gone!

i even tried dry salt paste rubbed inside his cheek and the beastfeeding straight after but he didnt like that either.

The pharmacist suggested mixing a little blackcurrent juice in to the salt solution and Eddie liked that to but I am wary of too much sugar and teeth , none yet though. I think if you give formula it must be easier but I am not keen to bottle feed breast milk or formula but that is another option.

Keep you chins up , I am sure you are doing a graet job!

Love from New Zealand
