My understanding is this. Only as children we have adenoids. Go figure. As we get older our adenoids shrink. I am a huge advocate of removing those nasty adenoids. Also chronic sinus problems can stem from allergies you do may not know you have. Sometimes as we get older we get allergies we did not have as children and visa versa. Try getting allergy testing. The doctor also told us if a child is around cigarrette smoke, their odds of getting sinus infection, or ear infections are higher. Makes sense. Smoke is an irritant to any respiratory system. I can remember working in an office when smoking was permitted and everyone around me smoked. I was sick constantly with some respiratory infection or sinus infection. Never did I connect it to that until now. Something else we had talked about a while back on here was perhaps the connection of CAH patients being oversuppressed and having that contribute to stuffier noses. You know how sometimes when a child is oversuppressed (well at least my daughter) and they have that puffy face? We wondered if that contributed to the stuffy sinuses. But I can’t remember what our conclusion was to that thought on that particular post. Just a thought.Laura
