OTC meds -- Tylenol
Sep. 7th, 2004   3:08pm

Hi just want to give my 2cents here.

With Ruthie (non-CAH), I really do watch the amount of Tylenol she gets. There are plenty of times when she is running a 101+ and not feeling bad (i.e. acting like she is) that I don’t medicate.

With Olivia (almost 6, CAH) if she hits 100 (or is right below but is acting like it will be going up) she gets the Tylenol. 3 of the 4 times she has had vomiting/injection/ER it was started by a high fever that I didn’t catch right away (twice it happened during the night).  From my perspective, this is one of those areas where you will hopefully know how your CAH child reacts and can medicate appropriately -- I know that not all CAH kids respond the way Olivia does.

Warm regards,

Janet
