I am currently almost 13 weeks pregnant and have been on dex since 7 weeks. I had the CVS and found out it is a girl, we are still waiting the results of the CAH testing as that had to go to a different lab and takes a week or so longer. So we will wait and see how long I need to stay on this.

My biggest and main side effect has been trouble sleeping. I am lucky to get 4-5 hours a sleep a night. I just wish when I did wake it was with enough energy to get some things done but I tend to toss and turn and usually give up and go read. I have probably gained more weight at this point than I did with my other two pregnancies. But not a drastic amount (3-5 pounds). I have not experienced the reduced immune system things but was told by the Dr. it was something to watch for. I was also told the Dex suppresses your adrenal glands so in times of illness or severe stress I would need solu cortef shot.

Side effects probably vary depending on the length of time you are on it. But for me it has been worth it (so far) I see it as something I can do and control to help my new daughter and hopefully spare her from some of the things her big sister has had to go through.
