re: If you took Dex, what were the side effects?

Hi!  I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with a boy who will not have CAH.  I did opt to take the DEX with this pregnancy after I had a son 22 months ago with it.  I have no plans to have any other children after this son but if I did I would take Dex in a heartbeat.  I started on the Dex at week 5 and was able to be off of it at 11 weeks.   I had two side affects that I am able to compare to my first pregnancy.  I put on 12 pounds by week 11.  (since I have been off I have put on 2 more pounds).   With my first son I put on a grand total of 15 pounds at his delivery.  The other affect is the neverending feeling of not being full.  I found myself going to restaurants to make sure I was being served a portion of food and eatting it and leaving.  AT home I would eat, eat more and then eat left overs.   My last week of being on the Dex I started to wake up during the night and feel very restless.  I would go to our spare bedroom and quickly and easily fall asleep again.   I am a labor and delivery nurse and get to hear about all kinds of symptoms that women have during pregnancy.  Everyone is different..... I think it is too easy to blame one thing on everything.  As far as taking the dex, it is a personal choice---in the end whatever your decision....it is the best for and how you can best take care of your child.
