I am a salt-waster.

I don’t really recall if the endo who put me back on it did a renin test.  I was living in Atlanta at the time and no longer do and don’t have the med records from that time. At the time, I had just had a bad bicycle accident and was in the midst of spending several months healing my very broken body so that may have had something to do with it.

My blood pressure has always been on the low side---florinef or not.  I do consume a good amount of salt regularly and always have.  However, I don’t use table salt because the chemical version of iodine they add to it gives me headaches.  Instead I treat myself to nice sea salts.  To make sure I get enough iodine, I also take kelp although that is probably unnecessary since the seasalt has natural iodine as well.

Given my activity now and comparing it to then, I think I may have had more energy off florinef which is one of the reasons I went off it.  I had gone off it previously (mostly for economic reasons of not having health insurance and it’s kind of pricey) then had a doc demand I take it again and which led to me complaining to him it made me feel dragged down and went off it again until I had my accident.

My every other day regime with it now is being done for two reasons....I’d like to stop taking it again, and on a daily dosage I get ankle swelling.

One note of caution though---I am 40 years old and I’m sure my needs are different than that of a child.  I’m also pretty in tune with my body and when things are out of whack.
