louisehi! i have asked this before, but can’t find that post anymore. i noticed on a recent post that a few people do not let teenagers babysit their cah children. i have a 8 month old swcah son and 2yr old and 4yr old noncah girls. i do have limited family that can babysit, but feel like i am tapping them out lately. my husband and i are just now getting our lives back a little since my son’s near death experience at time of diagnosis followed by several nasty stomach viruses (1 landed us in the hospital). happy to say, we have had a nice 2 months health-wise and want to start getting out again. there are 2 teenage sitters i used with the girls. both around 16 years old. they do not know how to give an injection, nor do they understand (well, i have never really tried to explain) cah. what they DO know is that if my son "started to vomit, have diarrhea, refused to eat, became pale, or developed a fever.....to please call me immediately. he has a genetic disorder that, under times of physical stress, can be life threatening. it is called cah." we are never more than 20 minutes away. i also have a list of family and close friends that live nearby at their disposal. just wondering other people’s HONEST thoughts. is this enough??? should i only allow adults to watch him??? to me, that would be extreme, but maybe not. i honestly have no idea. thanks!
louise
