son’s bone age and preccocious puberty
Sep. 20th, 2004   12:54pm
Hi! I am new to this sight and I have an 8 year old son with SWCAH. Tristan’s bone age is 12 years old and he weighs 120 lbs. and is 4’9. He started puberty at age 6 and was put on Lupron injections every 28 days, this seemed to be helping. We lived in Iowa at the time this all occurred. When Tristan turned 7 we moved to Phoenix where his new endo said he didn’t "APPEAR" to need to be on the injections any longer and took him off the Lupron. In June of 2004 we moved back home to Iowa and his previous endo was very concerned that Tristan had not been taken the Lupron injections and put him back on them. My son eats healthy and drinks A  LOT of water. I feel guilty about allowing the doctor in Phoenix to take him off the Lupron. I guess I just assumed the doctor knew what he was doing. I never seem to get my answers answered satisfactorily by either doctor my son has seen. Maybe somebody might know why this happens?? I thought we were doing so well because Tristan has never been hospitalized, missed a dose of medication, or had an adrenal crisis. Tristan used to be very small for his age and now he is so big and he doesn’t understand why and of course kids can be very cruel to him due to his size. When I first noticed the rapid growth I kept asking the endo why he was growing so fast and she just kept telling me to make sure when he was snacking that he was eating fruits and vegetables and not a bunch of junk food which he wasn’t he hates candy and sweets and has always preferred broccoli and cauliflower to candy. HELP!!
