KaraNow that we are back in Iowa, my son is going to the same endo he started with when he was born. We visit her every 3 months and she tests his bone age once per year. She is the endo that actually started him on Lupron and yes they checked for actual puberty. Which he did have some pubic hair and enlargement of the testes. The endo we saw when we lived in Phoenix for the past 1 1/2 years took him off Lupron, only saw him every six months- testing levels every other time we saw him and didn’t test bone age 1 time. Now that we’re back in Iowa he is back on Lupron. When he started growing rapidly around age 6 I kept questioning his endo, who never seemed too concerned with it at the time. She kept increasing his dose because he was getting bigger but then told me on the other hand the larger dose of cortef would make him hungry so he would eat more. What a vicious cycle. He would grow in spurts of 3-4 inches in 3 months time which I thought was rapid but the doctor didn’t seem concerned about it.
