I know how hard it is to lose a pet. We lost our cat, Charlie a few weeks ago, and our dog Casey last year.

When our cat Gracie had a litter of 9 (yes 9) all white kittens, the fleas could be seen miles away against their white fur. We used Adam’s Flea spray, which slowed them down, but didn’t completely get rid of them. That was the only thing I heard of that was gentle enough. We also gave them simple tap water baths in the sink, which would kill as much as 50 fleas per kitten, but terrified the kittens and made their momma as mad as a hornet.

Was this your only cat or do you have others? Occasionally I’ll post on a Cat Lovers message board The Cat’s Meow at http://www.voy.com/19281/. But this is a group of serious cat lovers, and is a very busy board. They’re also about the nicest people you’d meet anywhere (present company excepted). I use the pseudonym "Jack Lewis" when I post there, but I haven’t posted in several weeks.

To allow the kids some closure to do justice to their feelings for our pets, we always held a funeral for them and buried them at a family pet cemetery at my dad’s house. That means a lot to kids and helps them deal with the loss.
