My son recently had a gastroscopy as he has had quite bad heartburn for years.  The results showed he had gastritis and is now on a proton pump inhibitor (tablet). The gastroenterologist warned of taking meds such as ibuprofen and other pain meds with steroids, he did say the some people are more sensitive to the steroids than others, but only high doses would cause problems.  However, if you read the Addison’s board, where people take a smaller doses, most adults seem to have stomach problems. Tummy pains can also be bowel problems/wind, whereas gastritis is more heartburn.
