Karen please do not blame yourself! The fact that your son is well is because you have always cared for him. I feel it the job of the doctors to keep an eye on this, not us mums! However, I think height is very difficult to predict. My one daughter is very short - 5’ - she is not a carrier, my other daughter is 5’ 6" and she is a carrier - who knows why my younger daughter should be so short? The thing with CAH is, that most doctors do not even agree what the optimal 17 OHP level is............ Is there a chance that you could seek a second opinion? Yes my son did not grow for 6 months which is why we had his bone age done (just before he was 14 years old) then when we cut down on his dose, he started to grow although he was supposedly finished his growth. He had been through puberty - he went through it too quickly. My son has the bone density scan once a year, I had to ask for it to be done (after a friend suggested it to me).
