re: kidney stones anyone?

Hi Laura!

Oh, your poor little girl.  They hurt so much!  I didn’t go through kidney stones until I was a teenager, and they have been a recurring problem.  I have LOCAH -- had all the childhood symptoms but wasn’t diagnosed until I was 22.

My kidney stones are of the "gravel" variety meaning I don’t form big stones, but oodles of itty bitty ones.  They sometimes cause small tears (slight bleeding), which easily become infected.  I used to get a lot of UTIs with them but rarely anymore.  I end up in the emergency room usually about once a year.  I have never formed any big stones.  I have increased my water intake (sometimes so much so that my belly sloshes), but sometimes get stones anyway.  I wouldn’t wish them on anyway, and certainly not a little one!

I never thought of any link with CAH, though.  But hormones do affect everything.  I’m interested to see where this thread goes.  My heart goes out to your daughter.
