Here’s my easy way to give
Oct. 2nd, 2004   3:10pm

My son is nearly nine now.  And let me say this to you first.  He is extremely athletic.  He is on a club soccer team and swims on a swim team in the summer.  He is also very intelligent.  I used to wrooy that when he had his crisis before diagnosis, that he might have been harmed.  You would never know he takes meds every day!

Now for my way, which was told to us by the PICU nurse as a baby. Since we had to supplement his diet with extra sodium via a bottle 4x a day, we breast fed and bottle fed.  You can dissolve the meds as the others mentioned, but we put a bottle nipple with the ring in his mouth.  He would start to suck and we poured the meds in the nipple.  GEts every drop and never woke!

Don’t be scared.  The first year might be rough, but life will become normal.
