Well since my daugher was in NICU after starting to go into a crisis after birth because of a mis diagnosis, we supplemented with formula. Now a lot of people think this is an terrible idea, but we were blessed with a child that didn’t mind going from bottle to breast. I was SO stressed from the events of her birth I was not making enough at first. SO NICU suggested that I  supplement for a while. Well what I thought was a while was different than what they thought was a while. I used a 2 ounce bottle (a preemie size bottle) that I put her salt supplement in and formula. She drank that down and then I would breast feed. I was so paranoid I would supplement with another 4 ounce bottle of formula!!!  Well needless to say I didn’t realize how much I started to make once our world slowed down and my daughter was over fed!!! She was so full she barfed a couple of times. I of course ran her to the ped. right away thinking the worse. When the doctor asked how much I fed her she laughed.  The kid was full but kept on eating until she was ready to literally explode. Once I realized she was getting enough breast milk, I cut back on the bottle. I can laugh now as I look back but of course at that time she was like a fountain shooting milk out, I was terrrified. So my milk came in fast and I didn’t really realize it. No wonder why she was 20 lbs. at 6 months old. Hmmm. As soon as life calms down it will produce more. That is a great idea too, DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!!! TONS of it. That will help! Take care!
