susanhi, thanks for responding! Let’s see...we first went to the ped endo because I saw curly pubic hair on him when he was only 6, his pediatrician was kinda obnoxious about referring us, made me out to be over reacting, but I knew something was not right and I was right. The ped endo has been measuring his penis and testicles since then and they did recently increase in size when he was about 8 1/2 and other things began happening too which indicate puberty...like began having crushes on girls, getting erections and even ejaculations. The only symptoms he doesn’t have are the arm pit hair and body odor, that I can think of. He did the blood work in the morning as soon as we could get over to the lab, the doc said the numbers are highest in the morning??
oh also, he has pretty much been over the 95th percentile in height and weight all his life, so it didn’t start suddenly. Even though he was born about 3 weeks early he was still big as a newborn even. His head has always been huge and once we were referred to a geneticist for possible "over growth syndrome" as they called it, but they just decided his family has big heads LOL not that scientifci, not tests done.
I will be kinda upset if he has CAH and no one thought to test for it...every article I read about precocious puberty says you have to rule it out!! And then , what if he has some sort of tumor?? It is so scary to think about! We will be getting an MRI soon though. I worry that we are waiting too long to start the Lupron shots, it is so frustrating.
Are the shots really painful compared to regular shots? thanks for info!
