So he’s only really been in puberty for 6 months or so assuming your doctor is measuring correctly?  That’s probably a good thing that it hasn’t gone on too long without being checked.   So if he had pubic hair for a good 2 years before other signs of puberty - like testes getting bigger, that could put him back in the possible CAH camp.  I think underarm hair comes later and some people may just not smell. 

I’ve heard the Lupron shots can be painful because they have to go  in the muscle and he may even be sore after, but then other people said they’re not that bad.  We’re not there yet with my son so I don’t know from personal experience.  But I would think it would be worth it anyway.
