hi out there! just wondering if anyone has had a baby (cah or not) that was so chubby they didn’t quite meet their motor milestones. my 9 month old cah son is 25 1/2 lbs and 28 1/2 inches. he sits up great, laughs all the time, and uses a little walker to scoot all over the house. however, he doesn’t pull up or get from a sitting position from laying yet. both the endo and regular pediatrician commented on this, but both said they think it might just be from his weight. i looked up one of my daughters and at that age she was also 28 inches, but only 19 lbs, which is quite a difference! she DID meet her motor delays. i am more concerned than usual b/c he also has a 2 inch by 2 inch birthmark on the side of his face which sometimes is associated with neurological problems, involving potential developmental delays. so far, normal ct scan and normal eeg’s of the brain, so it is not likely to be anything more than a birthmark. thanks for any input. we see the neurologist on thursday for a routine appt, but he is SO thorough and i know he will also comment on this.
