re: For what and when was your CAH child/ren first hospitalized *after* diagnosis?

My 6 yr old son has never been hospitalized (after initial diagnosis at 7 days old of SW CAH)

Pretty much every year he gets a stomach bug with vomitting. We give him the solu-cortef shot at home. He is wired and doesn’t sleep much for a day, then recovers completely.

He has had colds too frequent to count, several sets of stitches, pulled teeth etc etc.

I was a bit of a germ-a-phobe when he was an infant and toddler. It didn’t seem to do much good but made me feel better. I still am a strict enforcer of hand-washing and good eating habits. Other than that, I don’t restrict him at all.

I think it really depends on the child.
