I too tested positive. Had antibiotics during labor, we were both fine. They say if the baby passes through the vaginal canal WITH the strep WITHOUGH antibiotics, is when it can affect the baby. That is what I heard. And it can be fatal to a new baby if they mother is not treated AND delivers vaginally. So I believe if you have a C cection the baby would not be affected. But I am no doctor. Just make sure you review this with your doc. before labor. The only ill affects I had from the antibiotics is that is made my arm that it went in feel like it was broken. It could have been from the way they put it in my arm now that I think of it. I was in agony with it. They wrapped it in warm blankets until the IV was done. GO figure. I never do anything easy. But in the end we all were fine. Let us know how it goes!
