I worked in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit as a RN for 4 years, and I will tell you right now..thank heavens for you having that test done!  I am glad to see that it is becoming more & more common for GBS to be tested for. As long as a mommy who is deliverying vaginally has 2 doses of antibiotics prior to birth, at my hospital the last dose was wanted to be infused approx. 4 hours prior to delivery if possible, then the baby is "covered" .  Since you are having a C/S the baby will not be coming through the  birth canal & thus is not in contact with the GBS.

Good Luck with your recovery!
