ToniaAfter being shut out from our pediatrician’s office over a monetary dispute, we were seen today by a ped in our town. I was very worried this morning when my 6 year old (ssw cah) wouldn’t get out of the car to see her new doctor. I finally persuaded her to give it a try and we would see after our visit who our doctor would be. Ellie loved her new doctor and admitted she always wished she had a girl doctor. She was wonderful. Asked Ellie lots of questions, talked right to her, valued her opinion, etc. She made her feel very special and not over powering or intrusive. That’s very comforting for a child with CAH. For me- I was happy when she gave me her cell phone number and said unless you need a routine appointment call me on my cell phone so you don’t have to talk to 5 people before you get to me. I know how much time matters with CAH. She copied all of our emergency documents, gave a copy to each staff member while we were still there and was full of so many questions about how my husband and I usually handle emergency and everyday situations for the girls and how we would like her to handle it. What a relief! Anyway, just wanted to share the good news!
Thanks and blessings!
