I’m pretty sure people don’t run around saying they are on anti depressants , or that they even have a psychological condition. Hello, the reason I know about MY family is because I am one of them. But believe me no one announces it. At family gathering no one acts depressed, even if they are having hardships. Everyone can put on the ACT.  Because most people are embarrassed by the fact. On these boards people can be open due to the ability of being anonymous. Most people in real life are hush-hush about family members even cause they don’t want someone to think they are crazy. My mom is like that, lol. Little does she know :o)......

 I find it too much of a coincidence that all of these people are suffering the same things.  I KNOW what depression feels like and I could not just choose to be happy for 7 years of too much Dex. I am not saying I never laughed or enjoyed anything. During that time.  However before having steroid induced depression, I had normal ups and downs. Ones that could be controlled. But that is not true depression. True depression will not just go away because one wants it too, especially not the steroid induced kind.  Believe me, when one is depressed...God gets real close!

 To Risty; I’m glad that you have a choice and I hope that your post does not ward off others that may have posted. They may now feel embarrassed to post. I also hope that through this research they may find what causes depression in most individuals. For me I feel it is an endocrine issue anyway. Seeing that most diabetics, thyroid..(autoimmune conditions)suffer from depression, anxiety. So it would be nice if they could find a pattern in genes or mutated genes that cause depression. It is possible that it is not JUST the mutated cah gene that has something to do with this.
