hi corri! hope your little one is better.  i should have been more forceful like you lately. my son (swcah) had a double ear infection last week and they put him on zithromax. about 2 hours after first dose, he vomited his brains out. i gave him the shot and watched him. the next am, i called the doc to tell him that i felt like the zithromax had upset his stomach and could we switch to a  different antibiotic?? the know it all nurse said that "lets just cut the dose in 1/2 and give it twice a day. if he vomits again, then give us a call." i politely explained to her that him vomiting is not an easy thing to deal with and that if there is even a chance it is the zithromax, i would like to go ahead and switch antibiotics. she said that it wasn’t necessary and never checked with the doc. i WISH i had said, please have the doctor call me, but i let it go. next day, same scenario. needless to say, we will never take zithromax again ( not that it is a bad antibiotic, but it clearly upsets his stomach) and i will trust my gut instinct more. good job, but sorry you (and all of us) have to go through this. i completely understand how people in the medical field are not familiar with cah because it is so rare, but they should listen to educated parents and do quick research when in doubt!!
