re: Adenoid removal -- To Laura and others who have had this done

YES! I think this was the greatest idea for my daughter. Knock on wood, we have been sinus infection free since, PLUS no snoring. We did it because of the snoring it lead to. That was actually our last straw. If it wasn’t for the snoring we wouldn’t have discovered the adenoids being enlarged causing all the infections. The snoring was horrific and very bad to her health. She wasn’t sleeping restful. Making her over tired through the day, making her more vulnerable to viruses. I just had her adenoids removed only. She never had strep in her past so the ear, nose, throat specialist decided to keep them in there so she didn’t have to put her body through un needed stress. I agreed. Although I have read CAH patients have done fine with both removed. My daughter had out patient surgery. We went in in the morning and out by early evening. Recovery was excellent! The only problem she had when she got home early that evening was that she vomitted twice after she got home because of the gunk that drained as they removed them plus the anethstetic. She was already stressed dosed so she did fine. No more barfing after that one incident. It did the body good to get rid of that junk. As a matter of fact once she did throw up she was smiling from ear to ear. Was back to her wild self in no time. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. I had it done at our local Children’s Hospital in Ohio. They took good care of her.  I recommend every child get these nasty things out if they are causing infections or snoring. Good luck!!!!
