My 3 3/4 (non-CAH) daughter had tubes put in and adenoids removed a little over 2 years ago. Previous, every little cold turned into a sinus and ear infection. I am amazed at the difference it has made. She was cranky the day of surgery, but no problems after that. It also helped her snoring -- which she still does to a lesser degree due to very enlarged tonsils. The tonsils haven’t been removed because, amazingly, she hasn’t had throat problems  -- both ped and ent said no. The ped assures me that by the time a child is about 5 the tonsils go down in size.
