Yes Julia, I agree with you.  I also live in Connecticut but was lucky enough to have a ped that also agrees with the fact that the care givers and siblings of the child at risk should be inoculated.  My daughter’s ped gives my son, my daughter and myself the flu shot each year and call us immediately upon receipt of the vaccine.

My husband had a little more difficult time of it convincing his doctor that he should get the shot.

It’s funny that you have to go through so much to get the shot from your doctor yet a store like Walmart received a shipment and was giving the shots to whoever was in line.

A couple of years ago, when we had a similar problem, I contacted the State Capitol and they told us that we qualified for a "special circumstances" dispensation.  They also included the parents/caregivers in that group.  I then had to go about trying to find anyone who had the vaccine and bring the vial to my son’s ped.

When will we learn?(;>)
