Wendy-LeeI hadn’t read through those posts on the previous page ... sorry to bring it up again!! Interesting how many people are identifying with this.
My Grandmother suffers from clinical depression, and has often told me how frustrating it is when people tell her to "snap out of it". I think that perhaps if someone doesn’t have direct experience with it, it may be easy to confuse just feeling "down in the dumps", and being truly, clinically depressed. As a Christian myself, I have found prayer to be the only thing that really helps me deal with my anxiety attacks when they happen, but I do not always have control over when they come. To suggest that someone can "get over" clinical depression, is the same as saying that you should be able to "control" any hormone problems (menopause?!) that you might ever have. It just doesn’t work that way.
