When we lived in Northern Virginia (for only 8 months) we visited with Claude Midgeon. He is an older man and your right he probably is about at retirement age.  I didnt meet any of his collegues but am sure he would recommend someone reputable.  We used his office as a local base in case of an emergency but used Dr. New’s office in NYC for regular checkups.  It worked out great for us, she just faxed his office the notes when we were there seeing her.  All the labs he did right in his office.
