hi! yes, your son could have cah. it would not be the salt wasting type though. yes, he could pass the newborn screen and have signs of cah at his age. however, he could just be a big child. the heavy weight is not really indicative of untreated cah, but the height is suspicious as well as bone age being advanced. are you and your wife tall?? the blood work that a peds endo will do could include 17ohp, testosterone, androstenedione, acth, cortisol levels, and maybe some others like electrolytes. those will tell for sure. if he does have cah, it will be ok. it is treatable and being detected relatively early. you will be in wonderful company :) keep us posted....
