That is a tough decision that only you and your husband can make for your family.  One of the things that my husband and I have decided is that we are not going to allow CAH to rule us.  We take all the necessary precautions where Melina’s health is concerned but we do not let the CAH be a crutch.  Of course, we haven’t had many problems.  Melina is now 2 1/2.  Since her diagnosis, we have only been to the ER 3 times for possible dyhydration (she was fine each time), only given her the Solu-Cortef shot twice, and her meds are in good control.  At 9 mos, we traveled to Indy for her surgery.  Since then, we’ve been back to Indy twice for follow-up visits that both checked out great.

In making your decision whether or not to move, take into consideration that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence.  I know there are many, many doctors in the country who would be more than willing to work with your current doctor in treating CAH.  If you are otherwise happy with your current Pediatrician, I would try that avenue first.  Sometimes one will get more personalized care in a rural area than in a metro area where the Dr. has so many more patients.

If you don’t mind, may I ask where you are from.  We live just outside of Kansas City on the KS side.  I have yet to find anyone with CAH from KS although I have found a couple CAH families in MO.

Good luck with your decision.

God Bless,

Tonia
