Cortisol and "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child"
Nov. 4th, 2004   9:36pm

I was re-reading Weisslbuth’s *Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child* for some ideas about sleep schedules when I realized HOW OFTEN he mentions the role of cortisol in sleep patterns.

Why, if sleep patterns are matched to cortisol levels, is my daughter’s endo concerned with equal doses eight hours apart?  Couldn’t it be better to give her dose in a non-eight hour spacing, for example, at 4 am, 10 am, and 6 pm? (She’s at 1/4 of a pill 3 times a day -- I hardly think we can subdivide her dose.)

Wondering outloud if my daughter is doomed to perenially screwed-up sleep (and me with her...)
